Globalization Essay
Globalization means how an issue effects the world, how the world thinks about it and their point of views. Multiple perspectives can be how people feel about it and how they feel towards the issue. They can have negative and positives thoughts about the issue. It all depends on how a person was raised. There are many religions that marry their children at a young age so that causes teen pregnancy. “In some subcontinents like India, early marriage may sometime bring teenage pregnancies. There are many tribes and casts in which child-marriage is still seen.”(Teen Pregnancy and Effects on Teenage Girls.) Some teens also do it as just trying to get attention, they see it as a way to get attention from parents “...and if they do not receive the right amount of love, support, and attention from the parent(s) they will rebel, think lowly of themselves, and seek love and approval in other places...” (Teen Pregnancy: Is It the Parent's Fault?) or to get out of a house where they would not like to be living in but teen pregnancy can also happen due to a unwanted memory to happen. “There are some cases in which, teenage girl becomes pregnant due to rape on her either by single man or as the result of massive rape.”(Teen Pregnancy and Effects on Teenage Girls.) Teen pregnancy has many perspectives from different points of view from everybody around the world like; parents think that teen pregnancy is the worst thing that can happen other just take it as it happens now we have to own up to our decisions but teen pregnancy is just a underage girl getting pregnant.
The way that globalization can impact my issue is both in a positive and negative way, one negative way is the way parents raise their children because there are certain parents that don’t want their child to know about birth control or contraceptives. One good way that globalization can impact my issue is there are other people out in the world that want to prevent teen pregnancy and that there’s also teen that would like to get on birth control or have information about it and a place where they can get contraceptives. There can be many more other impacts but mostly not getting the teens to come and support, for them not to take things serious “…found that the majority of young women who become pregnant are choosing not to use contraception because they do not have a compelling reason to prevent pregnancy” (“Teenage Pregnancy Effects.”). There could be a good way to turn this around, there are teens that do want to get on birth control that do want to take care of themselves and we can have those teens talk to others and let them know the good things about being protected and or not being a teen mom.
The way that the technological innovations of the 21st century impact my issue is because there were many things created to prevent birth control, there were things such as the birth control pill “In 2006, a half century after the introduction of the birth control pill, 82 percent of all pregnancies in women under age 20 were unintentional,” (“Teenage Pregnancy Effects.”), the after pill and many more. There has also being sex education in high school so the teens can know how to put on a condom and there are people who talk to the teen about where to go to get information about birth control such as clinics or the clinic at their own school would be very helpful too. Another thing would be The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy. It’s a campaign that their mission is to improve the lives and future of children as well as their parents and to help and be sure that children are born into stable homes and their strategy is to prevent teen pregnancy and unplanned pregnancy. The last thing would be the Plan B pill. “ It is designed to prevent pregnancy after sex” (There Is a Way to Prevent Pregnancy after Sex.)
The way that globalization connects to my issue is because now a days there are a lot of talks about teenage pregnancy and its effecting the lives of a lot of teenagers not only that but their families too, That would just give another mouth to feed and more money that needs to come in the house to be able to provide for the child and the family. This leads to the teens dropping out of school so they can get a job to be able to get some income to provide for their child. This would just increase both teen pregnancy rates and dropout rates too. Another example would be the level of education the teens would have. There can be some teen that have the help of their parents and the finished school but most of the time most teen do not have that kind of help if they come from a household where it’s a single parent living. This can increase poverty which leads to teenage pregnancy and can also lead to drug abuse. My last example would be if the rate of teen pregnancy can decreased we would not have a lot of different beliefs not only that but we would be able to come as one and actually do something good about this issue and come up with ways that we can help the others that get effect by it or that are parents themselves.
Some ways that globalization can be changed to solve my issue would be for people not to only give out their opinions on the way that they feel towards the issue but to actually come up with a plan on how we can prevent it or give information to teens so they can know where to go to and get help themselves. Another thing would be for the parents to stop keeping information from their child because that information can actually be helpful someday in their lives. To let them know what kind of situations they will faced a point in their lives and what they could do and ways where they can say “No” if they feel uncomfortable or not ready to move on to the next step. Also for the teens to not be shy, ashamed, or embarrassed come out and ask for information if they need it. If they want to know more about the situation and want to help out some way they can also do that. The whole point is to not be selfish and actually help out if they know that their help would be needed in some way.
