Fire Project Reflection
My experience while conducting and working on this project were a mixed of everything. I had a lot of fun researching about an issue that’s increasing throughout the years and knowing that there is a solution to solve this but there are so many people that just want to give their opinion and give suggestions but not actually try to do it themselves and try to help out. Throughout my research I’ve learned that teenage pregnancy happens for many reason for example rape, unprotected and not on an type of birth control, wanting to move out the house hold they are in, to get attention, the female or the male denial into wearing condoms and many more. It surprise me because usually I thought that it would happen due to unprotected sex but there were so many other reasons behind this issue. While I was doing research and planning everything I ran across some challenges. I was worried that I wasn’t going to be able to get a good amount of teens to come and learn, talk and ask questions about the issue. Also for there to be stubbornness, for them to try and have a debate with me about it. I’ve learned so much through this experience, I learned that all teens need some type of attention from their parents. That they need to feel love so they won’t go and find it somewhere else in a different manner. I also learned that teens are pressured sometimes into things they do not want to do. Many teens have sexual intercourse due to the fact that they have been with their boyfriend for a long period of time. These actions should not have to happen because we are all 100 percent in charge of our actions and decisions. This project helped me personally in many ways. My writing skills have improved so much throughout my whole years of education. It has helped me see that there are many other ways to do research and websites to go to. It also helped me see the perspectives of others on a issue that has a major impact now a days in the 21st century. It has shown me that I could be independent and finished projects on my own without the help of a classmate. I have asked more questions in class and to my teachers that helped me to accomplish this. One thing that I would always remember is to be organized and try to do everything and finish it on time so I won’t be hurrying myself up last min trying to do changes and fixing mistakes. This project showed me that in order to be able to help out my community I need to start by helping and creating myself into someone who will be able to accept challenges and know that everything won’t be easy.
